It feels good to be done and ready to move on to the next steps in wedding planning. Sorry for this coming to you so late today, but I hope you enjoy some of our favorite sale items from this week!

The Friday Report

Try not to drool…

We’re coming off a high from finding C’s PERFECT wedding dress last weekend, and it’s got us in full-on wedding mode. Today we’ve got a list of the best wedding ideas that have caught our attention lately. Enjoy!

Shoes for the glam bride and the casual bride. We’ll take both, thanks.

First off, we love the idea of the uniform Pinterest board cover photos from Gem Jackson. And the girl has some majorly awesome wedding pins worth coveting.

Martha Stewart Weddings will always be our favorite source of inspiration. Check out these great favor ideas.

A perfect idea for entertaining the younger crowd at your wedding.

Hey darling VoF readers, Highs down south have been in the 70s this week, which means I’ve been hitting my sweater collection probably a little too hard (because I don’t actually need a bulky knit scarf when it’s 75 degrees out). But I’m not apologizing so without further ado, we present to you some seriously awesome links this week.

Bridal fashion week has left us starry eyed.

Who needs a teddy bear when you could have a real bear (that hula hoops)?

Thank you glitter guide for feeding my lipstick obsession.

Okay, first read the article, then watch the video. Then try to say prisencolinensinainciusol.

We dare you to look at just one slide.

This seriously sweet story of a lost boy will make you want to cry. You win, Google, you win.

The ladies of VOF challenge you to try something new this weekend. Whether it be something small or something life changing, get out there and enjoy the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it perfect fall weather. Need some inspiration? Try one of the following ideas, we dare ya.

Invest in a baby pink coat. Baby pink seems all wrong for fall, right? Take a look at all these options from the ladies over at Fashionista and Glitter Guide, and you might change your mind.

Feeling crafty? Try making your own statement necklace.

Invest in science. We swear, you’ll definitely be on board with this new Kickstarter campaign.

But if you prefer the DIY route, check out these hot toddy recipes.

Dance like no one is watching. Here a little (spectacular) something to start the groovin’.

Exercise your brain with this apple vs. nail polish quiz. If you don’t fail, we’ll be super impressed.

Seeking a bigger change? Perhaps this girl’s epic job-quitting dance will inspire you.

Trend Focus: Bucket Bags

Bucket Bags
Fall has arrived! (I know this only because the highs down in the southeast have finally fallen into the 80s. Hallelujah!). There is no better time than fall to invest in one of this year’s biggest handbag trends – bucket bags! We’ve compiled a set of our favorite options above. Happy shopping!

Kickstart your Career and Look Great Doing it!

Dress to Impress

Starting out a career often feels like a bit of a roller-coaster full of excitement, disappointment, mistakes, learning, and so much more. It is sometimes tough to know exactly where to go next and how to get what you want in the end. As two girls working our way up in the world, the VOF team can attest to this great advice from Forbes.

As for what to wear, VOF loves the looks featured above. Make sure to dress for your specific career and put a bit of personal flair into anything you wear.

1. The Designer and Architect. Try out color and Prints. Don’t be afraid to stand out and show your personality. After all, your overall style is why your clients will inevitably hire you.

2. The Marketer and PR Expert. Marketing and PR fall somewhere in the middle. They are creative fields, but are still set in a business environment. Try out more subtle colors with a hint of texture and bling.

3. The Lawyer and High Powered Business Woman. These fields require keeping it tasteful. Try stepping away from the suit and adding a textured jacket with a fun watch to add some personality to your look.

Wednesday Wish List

Wednesday Wish List
For those of you looking for a midweek pick-me-up, look no further. We’re feeling a little jealous of kids on summer break, so we’re taking a mental vacation this morning to bring you some playful picks on our current wishlist.
1. SMP’s funfetti cake and icing ice cream recipe really has us drooling. On second thought, It calls for three hours of prep time, so perhaps we’ll head to Baskin-Robbins instead.
2. I “invested” in some heart-shaped sunglasses while C and I were at Mardi Gras in New Orleans this spring (see proof here, although C’s pearl sunglasses take the cake). While the pink pair above are the epitome of fun, Nordstrom also provides an every day alternative. I totally admit I’ve worn them many times since.
3. A few months ago I stumbled across a college-town bar that had an over-sized set of Jenga blocks. Needless to say, I was hooked. CB2 sells an grown-up version of the game. They call them tumbling towers, but we all know it as Jenga (we’re onto you CB2).
4. There’s a special place in my heart for Kate Spade’s graphic clutches. Who knew a clutch could make you laugh and be so chic all at once. Thanks to C, I have my own personal Arm Candy.
5. Loving how See by Chloe turns orange into a neutral with this sandal.
6. A little color therapy can really brighten one’s mood. Nasty Gal does just that with this silky watercolor shift, plus we’re head over heels for the exposed rose gold zipper in the back.
7.  These Tory Burch studs make the perfect gift for someone with a summer birthday. I like to shop with the one pair for you, one pair for me mentality 😉
8. My usual problem with DIYs is that everything I craft ends up looking homemade. Style Me Pretty Living provides a wealth of DIY ideas that look sleek and store bought, like this abstract painting DIY.
Hope you’re surviving the work week. Don’t forget to have a little fun!
